Mrs and Mr Jauncey
Venue – Chateau Lacanaud. https://chateau-lacanaud.com/
The château is a beautiful, relaxed venue for a wedding, with a stunning fountain in the courtyard and a wonderfully large garden – perfect for a wedding ceremony.
Wedding planner – Stevie and Chris didn’t have a wedding planner but Stewart, the owner, was wonderful and they paid a little extra to have him coordinate suppliers on the day. Stewart helped to support, recommended local suppliers and even built the supports for their lighting.
Photographer Aaron Collett. https://www.aaroncollettphotography.co.uk/
Having a professional wedding photographer as a family friend is such a bonus. Aaron took some great shots that captured the relaxed and friendly atmosphere. This was a wedding where everyone chipped in to help the day run like clockwork.
Musician – Synergy Band – http://synergyliveband.com/ – one of Stevie and Chris’ favourite suppliers. They were so much fun. They heard them play at the wedding show in the UK and knew they had to have them. They flew from the UK and gave us a really good deal.
Hair and beauty artist – Lizbeth did Stevie’s makeup and hair https://www.liz-beth.co.uk/ – she was recommended to by Stewart and is located locally in France.
Cake maker – Lucy Simper (https://www.simperskitchen.co.uk/chef) did the food and created a traditional French wedding cake, a croquembouche. Stevie says “OMG that was amazing. I’m glad there was some left over because I was eating about five of those little pastry balls each day after the wedding. The wedding breakfast she provided was equally as delicious. We wanted a relaxed menu, with sharing platters of salads and BBQ’d meats. We have a lot of compliments on the food.” Her very talented mum made a wedding cake; it was orange and almond with a meringue butter icing – yum.
Useful information and tips
We planned the wedding ourselves. As the venue was not a wedding venue as such, there wasn’t a package to include furniture or even crockery. We hired all of that from an events’ supplier – https://www.souchon-reception.com/. They have a great range of equipment and covered most of our needs, including tables, linen, crockery, cutlery, glassware etc. The rest we sourced from the UK and my mum drove over with a car full.
We also used the local Cave in Eymet town centre for our wine. Mitch was wonderful and supplied us with some gorgeous wine.
